3. Account Registration and Security

3.1 Account Creation

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must be at least 18 years old to use this service
• One person may not maintain multiple accounts

3.2 Master Key and Security

• Your master key passphrase is essential for accessing your encrypted data
• We cannot recover lost master keys because we can never see your information
• You are solely responsible for securely storing your master key
• You must notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorized access

3.3 Account Responsibility

• You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
• You agree to monitor your account regularly for unauthorized activity
• You must maintain accurate contact information for service notifications

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 Permitted Uses

You may use Eternal Vault only for lawful purposes, including:

• Storing personal documents and memories for digital legacy purposes
• Managing trusted contacts for inheritance planning
• Securing important information for family access after death

4.2 Prohibited Uses

You may not use our Service to:

• Store or transmit illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory content
• Upload copyrighted material without authorization
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Circumvent or disable security features
• Interfere with other user’s access to the service

5. Data and Content

5.1 Your Content

• You retain ownership of all content you upload to Eternal Vault
• You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content as necessary to provide the service
• You represent that you have the right to upload and share all content you store

5.2 Content Standards

• All content must comply with applicable laws and regulations
• Content must not infringe on third-party rights
• We reserve the right to remove content that violates these standards

5.3 Data Retention

• Your data is retained until you delete your account or request data deletion
• Upon account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 60 days
• Trusted contacts may retain access to shared content as configured by you

6. Trusted Contacts and Access Control

6.1 Trusted Contact System

• You may designate trusted contacts who can access your vault under specified conditions
• Trusted contacts must verify their identity through our secure verification process
• You can modify trust levels and access permissions at any time

6.2 Heartbeat Monitoring

• Our system monitors your account activity through periodic check-ins
• Failure to respond to check-ins may trigger vault access for trusted contacts
• You can adjust heartbeat settings and reset false alarms through your account

6.3 Access Release

• Vault access is released to trusted contacts only when predetermined conditions are met
• You maintain full control over access conditions and timing
• Emergency access procedures are available for urgent situations

7. Privacy and Security

7.1 Encryption

• All data is encrypted client-side before transmission to our servers
• We employ zero-knowledge architecture and cannot access your unencrypted data
• Security measures include industry-standard encryption and secure key management

7.2 Data Protection

• We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data
• Regular security audits and updates maintain system integrity

8. Service Availability

8.1 Service Provision

• We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime for our service
• Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible

10. Limitation of Liability

• Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the service in the preceding 12 months

• We are not responsible for delays or failures due to circumstances beyond our control
• This includes natural disasters, government actions, or third-party service failures

11. Termination

11.1 Termination by You

• You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings
• Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 60 days
• Trusted contacts will lose access to your vault upon account termination

11.2 Termination by Us

• We may terminate accounts that violate these Terms
• We will provide reasonable notice except in cases of serious violations
• You may appeal termination decisions through our support channels

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of India
• Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of India

12.2 Arbitration

• Disputes may be resolved through binding arbitration at either party’s request
• Class action lawsuits are waived in favor of individual arbitration
