Connect Fitness Apps
Eternal Vault can automatically generate heartbeats when you’re active by connecting to your favorite fitness apps. This makes staying connected effortless – just live your life, and we’ll know you’re okay.
Fitness app integrations are available on paid plans. Upgrade your account to connect your fitness apps.
Supported Fitness Apps
We currently support three popular fitness platforms:
Google Fit
- What we check: Daily step count, active minutes, and calories burned
- Activity threshold: 1,000+ steps, 10+ active minutes, or 200+ calories
- Works with: Android devices, Wear OS watches, and any app that syncs to Google Fit
Fitbit
- What we check: Daily step count, active minutes, and calories burned
- Activity threshold: 1,000+ steps, 10+ active minutes, or 200+ calories
- Works with: All Fitbit devices and the Fitbit mobile app
Strava
- What we check: Recent workout activities and movement data
- Activity threshold: Any recorded activity, 0.5km+ distance, or 5+ active minutes
- Works with: Running, cycling, swimming, and other activities tracked in Strava
How to Connect Your Fitness Apps
Step 1: Access Integrations
Navigate to the Integrations page from your dashboard sidebar.


Step 2: Choose Your App
Click Connect on the fitness app you want to integrate with.


Step 3: Authorize Access
You’ll be redirected to the fitness app’s authorization page. Sign in and grant permission for Eternal Vault to access your basic activity data.
After authorization, you’ll be redirected back to Eternal Vault and see your connected app with a green “Connected” status.
Step 4: Verify Connection
Your connected fitness app will show as Connected with a green status indicator.


How Automatic Heartbeats Work
Daily Activity Checks
- We check your connected fitness apps once per day for activity
- If you meet the activity threshold, an automatic heartbeat is generated
- You’ll see these heartbeats marked as per the integration in your heartbeat history


Activity Thresholds
Each fitness app has different ways to measure activity:
- Steps: Walking, running, or general movement throughout the day
- Active Minutes: Time spent in moderate to vigorous physical activity
- Calories: Energy burned through daily activities and exercise
- Workouts: Recorded fitness activities like runs, bike rides, or gym sessions
You can connect multiple fitness apps. If any connected app shows activity, an automatic heartbeat will be generated.
Privacy and Security
What We Access
- Basic Activity Data: Steps, active minutes, calories, and workout summaries
- Daily Activity Status: Whether you were active on a given day (yes/no)
- Connection Status: Whether the integration is working properly
What We DON’T Access
- Personal Health Data: Heart rate, sleep patterns, weight, or medical information
- Detailed Workout Data: Routes, pace, performance metrics, or personal records
- Social Data: Friends, comments, or social interactions
- Location Data: GPS routes or location information
All access tokens are encrypted and stored securely. We only check activity data and never store your personal fitness information.
Managing Your Connections
View Connection Status
Check the status of your fitness app connections on the Integrations page:
- Connected (Green): Working properly, checking daily activity
- Error (Red): Connection issue that needs attention
- Disconnected (Gray): No longer connected to your fitness app
Disconnect an App
To disconnect a fitness app:
- Go to the Integrations page
- Find the connected app
- Click Disconnect
- Type “disconnect” in the confirmation dialog to confirm the disconnection


Reconnect an App
If an integration stops working:
- Click Reconnect on the failed integration
- Re-authorize access with your fitness app
- The connection will be restored automatically
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
Integration shows “Error” status:
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting the app
- Ensure you’ve granted all required permissions
- Check that your fitness app is syncing data properly
No automatic heartbeats generated:
- Verify you’re meeting the activity thresholds
- Check that your fitness app is recording activity
- Ensure the integration status shows “Connected”
Fitness app won’t connect:
- Clear your browser cache and try again
- Disable browser extensions that might block pop-ups
- Try connecting from a different browser or device
